Armchair Travelers
Hosted by the independent bookstore Read Books, Armchair Travelers will take you on a worldwide journey from right here in Virginia Beach. It was inspired by the podcast "Strong Sense of Place." The club is dedicated to offering an "immersive global reading experience" and welcomes all adults to join in on the fun. Armchair Travelers meets on the third Thursday of every month. Participants must purchase the book club selection from Read Books.
Women's Book Club 20s/30s/40s
For good books, great food, and maybe even a few brews, join the Women's Book Club. It's for those in their twenties, thirties, and forties and meets one Sunday afternoon a month. This social group holds its meetings at bars, restaurants, and coffee shops in Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach. Everyone is welcome, even if they haven't cracked open the book. Don't forget to RSVP.
Virginia is for Book Lovers
Boasting nearly 400 members, Virginia is for Book Lovers welcomes all ages to come and share their thoughts. The group meets monthly at a local restaurant, rotating between Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach. The reading is selected by poll. Many of the books are fictional in nature, and past titles include The Humans by Matt Haig and In Five Years by Rebecca Serle.
