Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways History Museum

Found in a Georgian-style building, the Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways History Museum welcomes visitors by both land and water. It's an important educational destination and features exhibit spaces highlighting the Battle of Great Bridge and the importance of the historic waterways. Stop by the gift shop before you leave for some exciting finds.

Historic Park & Interpretive Pathway

Telling the story of our country's history, the Historic Park & Interpretive Pathway welcomes visitors rain or shine. It "serves as a tribute to the Battle of Great Bridge" and offers scenery you'll want to capture for your Instagram page. As you explore, you'll also find a recreation of the 1775 Causeway, an outdoor amphitheater, and a picnic area where you can bring a basket filled with fried chicken, macaroni salad, and lemonade. A monument dedicated to the British troops who sacrificed their lives during the battle is also planned.

Southside Artists Association Art Show

Don't miss the Southside Artists Association Art Show. It's returning to the museum and will feature more than 25 local artists whose work "represents the Village of Great Bridge from the Revolutionary War through the present day." Their pieces may also highlight life along local waterways. This event will take place August 2nd through 5th, and August 9th through 12th.

Become a Volunteer

If you are looking for a way to give back, the Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways History Foundation is always looking for dedicated volunteers. You can become a park landscaper, join a committee, or help with office and museum operations.
